Who We Are
Partner
Alina has spent her entire career hiring for nonprofit organizations, beginning with the Talent Acquisition team at YES Prep Public Schools, one of Houston’s largest charter school networks. She supported teacher hiring for twenty campuses before moving to lead home-office recruitment for non-instructional departments. Since 2019, Alina has worked as a talent consultant, working with over 50 mission-driven organizations nationwide on human capital projects.
A Houston native, Alina grew up volunteering with her family and graduated from the Kinkaid School. She now lives in the Houston Heights with her husband, son, and two cats where she spends her time baking cookies, playing board games, and advocating for women’s healthcare. Alina holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's in Human Resource Management from the University of Southern California.

As the proud daughter of a career elementary school teacher and city social worker, Sarah knew early on that her career would be in service of others. She started her career with Teach for America as a 2010 South Dakota corps member, teaching first grade on Pine Ridge Reservation before joining TFA’s team in Dallas-Fort Worth. After many years on their team, she transitioned fully into talent work and has been working as a talent consultant since 2018.
Sarah and her partner Trevor live in Milwaukee with their beloved cat. She spends her free time supporting TFA- Milwaukee as a member of the alumni board, volunteering at the Milwaukee County Animal Shelter, and serving as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate within the Milwaukee County Children’s Court. She’s a proud graduate of Smith College, and an advocate for women’s colleges!

In 2026, Alina and Sarah decided to formalize their existing working relationship and create Mitchell & Mueller Consulting to continue to do the work they love and serving the organizations they love.
